I think I have this resolved for now. I was able to revert the mailstore back to the old domain name and everything is working.

I changed the domain name of my servers in a multi-server install and now I can't seem to get into the web interface. I get a login screen but after I log in I get nothing. Swift assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest you do a multi-server install setting up the MTA on your "backup" server. Just run the install script on the backup server, just install the MTA portion nothing else.

In the admin console you can setup the domain to do external authentication, its very easy just follow the wizard.

I figured it out. My keystore still had the tomcat entry in it and will preferring it. I may be advantageous to remove the keystore in the upgrade.

SMTP Auth not working
This is most likely because your users are in the zimbraMTAMyNetworks. Whoever sits in those subnets are considered trusted and do not have to authenticate.
