SMTP Services??

When I run nmap localhost on it, it shows that telnet opens port 23, 25 was already open for smtp yet for some reason I was thinking telnet would open port 25, not 23. Back to the drawing board. Here is a brief description of blat. happy mailing :...

I was wondering the same. Read receipts are a very important feature in e-mail these days.

SMTP Services??
Thanks Phoenix, we're not really experienced with Linux here so I didn't even think to do a yum install. I looked some things up online though and I got telnet running, but I had to do a "chkconfig krb5-telnetd on" and some other things. The BLAT program doesn't give errors anymore when we...

I don't know how to enable telnet. It doesn't seem to be a service in RH EL 4. I have SE Linux and Firewall disabled too. If someone knows how to enable telnet in RH EL 4 that would fix it.

So what's been fixed about it? Are we supposed to do something special to fix it or do we have to wait for a new release? Even the bug report says "resolved" yet I see no resolution for this.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure it was a simple process that wouldn't require much down time. I don't want to get yelled at today, it's Friday and I'm feelin' good lol.

Is upgrading network edition as simple as unpacking and doing ./install.sh ?
I thought I read somewhere that zimbra would detect the previous version when you do that and ask you if you want to upgrade. I want to get upgraded to 4.5.6 from 4.5.4 asap.

zmschedulebackup and Alternate Backup Location
Well my OS and the zimbra core files are loaded up on a Raid 1+0 consisting of 2 15,000 RPM 36GB HDD's. The Raid5 array where I have the mailstore and the backups located on consists of 15,000 RPM 72GB HDD's. I'm trying to get approval to purchase another server so I can create a test lab for myself...
We have the /opt/zimbra/store and /opt/zimbra/backup symlinked to a 2.7 TB Xserve RAID configured with RAID5. No problems or complaints to speak of in the past six months of use.
Cool thanks for the info everyone. As long as the symlink works we should be fi...
