Re: log4j-zero-day exploit - active attacks
Have a hard time agreeing with Zimbra's assertions that the EOL version of log4j is unaffected. Would it be too much to ask them to update asap? This has the potential to be devastating, from a host point of view and for the Zimbra brand. Think it would be in Zimbra's best interest to update the lib...

Re: New Secure Email Zimlet
Use Firefox to create and download Comodo email certificate in pkcs12. Backup cert with key to smime keystore. Upload pkcs12 to account. Convert pkcs12 to pem without key. Share pem cert with whomever (Make sure contact you're trying to send encrypted email has public cert attached).

Re: Zimbra Collaboration 8.7.x and Ubuntu OS update corrupts/removes Zimbra installation
we were early adopters of 8.7 on ubuntu 16 and ran into a few issues as well. ended up apt-get removing zimbra-*, then install -s w/o zimbra repo, and finally copying over /opt/zimbra/.saveconfig/localconfig.xml to conf directory to compensate for ldap error. everything runs smooth, though logger st...

Single user can't send or receive email after upgrade to 8.5.0
Also had/having this issue after upgrading. Don't think it's related to v8.5, rather how you go about upgrading. We did an OS update first, then upgraded Zimbra from v8.0 to v8.5. The former prevents Zimbra from running during the update, so it cannot perform a db check during install. As idiomatica...

Upgrade from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS - Current Zimbra 8.5.0 GA
we recently updated one customer from ubuntu10.04lts/zimbra8 to ubuntu14lts/zimbra8.5. super easy. basically you'll perform a do-release-upgrade twice (once to 12, second time to 14), install libperl5.18 then update the zimbra package to 8.5 with the --skip-activation-check option. simply reactivate...

Enable Perfect Forward Secrecy in Zimbra 8+ ?
of course you can. just as you can use a weak cipher to connect - unless you tell it not to. perhaps i was misunderstood, but a great majority of us already know how to make our zimbra installs more secure. i was making a suggestion on how you might want to better distribute information to your user...

Enable Perfect Forward Secrecy in Zimbra 8+ ?
I agree this needs to be dealt with - especially considering the enormity of the whole Heartbleed fiasco. Zimbra engineers might want to be really careful how they propose to "fix" PFS on the Zimbra platform. Stating it's a feature request for an upcoming version of Zimbra is not enough. M...

SMIME Zimlet ( on Linux )
SMIME only seems to work on Windows with the 32-bit version of Java 6. Tried all combos of 32-/64-bit browser/java configs in Ubuntu and OS X, and it always fails to find the cert. Chrome works in Windows, but complains about the older version of Java each time you login. That leaves IE - which of c...
