Windows 8 breaks default mail application setting

I am running ZD 7.2.7 Beta in Windows 8.1 64-bit. When setting Zimbra as the default mail application, it no longer works for the mailto:// protocol. Microsoft changed the way default applications work with the new app store apps and such.
Is this in the to do list for the new version of ZD?

Adding plain www.domain.com to existing zimbra webmail.domain.com without installing another web server?

Okay, I've been searching and reading and found a ton of wiki articles and forum answers about this topic. However, they all involve changing the ports that each product listens to and running 2 web servers: Zimbra's built-in and usually a separate Apache. IS THERE ANY WAY TO AVOID THIS? Is there an...

How to view/set zimbraInboundSmtpHostname via CLI?

45 views and no replies. I guess I found a difficult one. Regarding the CLI, I tried as many iterations as I could figure out with zmprov, to no avail. If I do a zmprov gcf domain, none of the attributes come up with "zimbraInboundSmtpHostname." Likewise many of the other options in the ad...

How to view/set zimbraInboundSmtpHostname via CLI?

I am having a couple of problems related to Home -> Configure -> Global Settings -> MTA -> "Inbound SMTP Host Name" 1st: I set a value that I need to unset. In the GUI, when I delete the value, click save, get out and back in, it re-appears. 2nd: I can't find the documentation to tell me h...

[SOLVED] Yet Another Backup Script for Community Version

That was the case in my situation. I am by far not an expert, so I can't tell you what *will* happen in your case. :D [quote user="kkimmell"]So an install of bsd-mailx with whatever dependencies Ubuntu grabs will get me a working copy of mailx that in no way effects Zimbra's functionality ...

[SOLVED] Yet Another Backup Script for Community Version

I didn't think that error was meaningful to the problems I am experiencing. I've taken out the "/data/ldap/mdb.prev/db/" directory from my script and will see how it runs tonight. The exclusion of .mdb's from the rsync is included in the script already, yet it seems that the rysync is what...

[SOLVED] Yet Another Backup Script for Community Version

I recently upgraded from v6 to 8.06 and am having major performance issues. I've narrowed them down to running this backup (which I've been using for years now). I've updated my script to Mr. Twister's (immediately preceding this reply) zmbak_v.0.8.1.sh.txt and it helped a bit. However, when the rsy...

Confirmation of this upgrade plan please

I have read the release notes and searched the forums. I am running version 6 open source on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS I want to upgrade in-place to version 8 running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS I see that 10.04 is supported but deprecated and there are 2 different Ubuntu installs. Can I upgrade in this order?: 1. Down...
