It's difficult to troubleshoot your issue without noting more details.
Please note the software (Zimbra AJAX Web Client, Zimbra HTML Web Client, Zimbra Desktop, etc) you are using as well as the version. Also, if you're using a web client please note the browser and platform.

I did a quick search of bugzilla for 'duplicate invitation', and I don't see anything similar to what you describe. If you're only seeing this behaviour for one user, it's likely either an issue with that user's account or an issue without how the invitation is being sent.
