I found out why these files were not updated. I did not have all domains and subdomains pointed to the new IP address in my hosts file. I mistakenly thought having the main mailserver hostname pointed to the new IP address would be enough.

Double check that hostname isn't different from zmhostname. If it is, add that entry in /etc/hosts also.
