Re: Reset Configuration

You could try installing the 30-day trial of the Zextras suite and export a backup, then import back into a fresh install of Zimbra. Please test this out on a spare server before trying on production server though.

Re: Restore a crached dedicated server on a new dedicated

Before restoring your backup of /opt/zimbra on the new server, you need to install Zimbra with the -s option(./install.sh -s). Once that's done, delete the resulting /opt/zimbra directory and restore your backup in its place. Then run install.sh again as normal and it should perform an "upgrade...

Re: Network Edition 8.8.10 Upgrade - Backups "Bug"

This happened to me as well on my NE server. I just flushed the schedule to fix it but was scratching my head as to why it got enabled. Didn't attribute it to the upgrade because it took a while for me to start getting low disk space warnings.

Re: Does fail2ban need iptables?

All my Zimbra servers are behind a pfSense firewall with pfblockerNG installed. I only allow traffic from countries that actually need to connect. Doesn't totally eliminate attacks but certainly reduces them drastically.

Re: reveal IP connection source from bruteforce authentication attempt

Gotcha. I'm out of ideas then. I've never seen Zimbra log connections from the private side of pfSense, especially if no other nat or static routing modifications have been made.

Re: reveal IP connection source from bruteforce authentication attempt

Ok, what does that 1:1 NAT setting look like? Do you really need that? If you only have one public ip on the WAN interface, you don't.

Re: reveal IP connection source from bruteforce authentication attempt

There's your problem. Delete those rules and port forward all of those ports to your Zimbra server.

What do your port forwarding settings look like in pfSense?

Re: Migration ubuntu Server 14.04->16.04 on a Zimbra 8.8.10

I'd recommend doing a clean install of 16.04 instead of doing the upgrade. If you partition the server correctly, ie put /opt on a separate partition, then it's very easy to do and you don't need to restore the /opt/zimbra directory(although you should always have a current backup).
