Re: Moving from CentOS 6 to a modern Linux install

Hi, thanks both for your replies. So, if one can not in-place upgrade the OS, Ubuntu main advantage does not apply.

Any information about RHEL/CentOS 8? Do you know if support for these OS is coming?

Thanks.

Re: Moving from CentOS 6 to a modern Linux install

Hi, thanks for your reply. The current installation is relatively large (over 200 GB) and I am not sure it would be faster/simpler with zextrabackup rather than via rsync.

However, this post is mainly about what OS to migrate
Did you have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Moving from CentOS 6 to a modern Linux install

Hi all, I have an up-to-date Zimbra Collaboration installation (8.8.x) on an old CentOS 6 VM. I know that I need to fully migrate the system, as no in-place upgrade option exists for CentOS/RHEL. However, from the Zimbra download page I can see that the newest Zimbra Collaboration version is 8.8.15 ...

Re: Upgrade from 8.8.9 to 8.8.12 - clarification needed

Well, after some tests, I can reply myself and share tha reply with the community. A "yum update" on, say, Zimbra Community 8.8.8 brings it to the latest patch level , while a full "install.sh" is needed to upgrade to, say, 8.8.12. Maybe this is common knowledge, but I feel as sh...

Upgrade from 8.8.9 to 8.8.12 - clarification needed

Hi all, I need some clarification on the correct update procedure from Zimbra Community Edition 8.8.8 to 8.8.12. From my understanding, the supported update steps are the ones listed on https://zimbra.github.io/installguides/latest/upgrade.html , which basically revolves around running "install...

Upgrade OpenSSL on old Zimbra 8.0.x

Hi all, I have a short question: it is safe to upgrade the OpenSSL library (and only it) on an old Zimbra 8.0.x installation?
PS: I know, this is an *old* installation, but for now my customer does not want to update to a newer release.

Thanks.

Re: Upgrade from 8.0.6 to 8.8.6

Hi all, thanks for your help! From your reply, I understand that, due to the proxy requisite, 8.7+ is a somewhat bigger step than, say, 8.6.0p9 I wonder if a better plan would be to upgrade my 8.0.6 installation to 8.6.0p9 first, use it for some days (to be 100% all is working correctly), then sched...

Upgrade from 8.0.6 to 8.8.6

Hi all, I just inherited a old single-server Zimbra 8.0.6 installation running on 64-bit CentOS 6.5. Being both the OS and Zimbra so old, I plan to update at the next maintenance window. However I would like to first do a reality-check asking on the forum. I read the guide at https://wiki.zimbra.com...
