Purging after moving accounts (zmmboxmove, zmpurgeoldmbox, zmproxypurge)

I know this is anecdotal evidence, but I didn't even know about zmproxypurge and I didn't run it at all when I moved 1700 or so accounts from one single server to three different mail stores.
No problems reported with it.

If moving between the same OS version, you can use the rsync method to move. I've done this before successfully: Ajcody-Notes-Server-Move - Zimbra :: WikiThe initial rsync will be while the server is running. The final rsync will have to be when the Zimbra service is stopped and you'll chang...

Where is the log showing IPs of access attempts?

As mentioned in my last post:
If you're using Zimbra's proxy servers in a multi-server environment, you'll have to check /opt/zimbra/log/nginx.log
Even if you're not in a multi-server environment, if you installed the Zimbra proxy, then it will pass through there first.

Just use grep. For example if you are looking for issues with username johnsmith's out of office:
grep johnsmith /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log | grep outofoffice

Restore account from backups without deleting existing mail?

-ca means to create a new account (so you don't impact the existing account you're restoring a copy of). -pre is the prefix to give that account (its actually more of a postfix, since if you use -pre restored then the account will be created accountname-restored@domain.com.I haven't done...

Restore account from backups without deleting existing mail?

I'M NOT SURE HOW THIS CAN BE DONE WITHOUT RESTORING MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. THE BEST I CAN GUESS WHICH WOULD BE SCRIPTABLLE (THOUGH MAYBE NOT ELEGANT) WOULD BE TO SOMETHING LIKE THIS: RESTORE ONE ACCOUNT (WITH -PRE AND -CA) EXPORT THE CONTENTS OF THAT ACCOUNT (ZMMAILBOX -Z -M RESTORED-ACCOUNT@YOUR-DO...

Zimbra is sending a Spam

If the only issue is that your server was passing along mail from backscatters, how long since you made those changes? Have you been re-added to a blacklist since then or have you just not been removed yet? Also, make sure you do not have users that are compromised. It doesn't matter what changes...

There's a lot of good info in the wiki on this: Moving ZCS to New Server - Zimbra :: Wiki
If you're on 7.2.2 you should upgrade to the latest 7.2.7 version ASAP though. There have been some security fixes between 7.2.2 and now.

Check /opt/zimbra/log/audit.log. If you're using Zimbra's proxy servers in a multi-server environment, you'll have to check /opt/zimbra/log/nginx.log If its an SMTP transaction, you'll have to check /var/log/maillog on one of your MTAs.If you have the proxy/SMTP servers behind a load...
