Anyone else see huge spammer activity yesterday?

Within 1 minute late last night (between 23:46 and 23:47 GMT) fail2ban blocked 37 separate servers attempting to use our mail server. I have never seen such a flood before.

Re: [Zimbra Open Source] is it possible to create two-way TLS tunnel between two mail servers

It is possible to require your server to have a TLS encrypted session before sending to any nominated domain. You need to do manual Postfix changes to enable it as far as I know - at least the last time I looked at it. And, as manual changes they do not survive zimbra upgrades. I don't believe you c...

Re: calls to Zimbra Server doesn't works from Virtual Machine

Are you accessing the zimbra server through the proxy - or are you trying to go to the MTA directly? It would seem that you are not getting everything set up correctly for using the auth token on the subsequent call. Again, I would refer you to the PHP file I mentioned above if you can read it. It s...

Re: calls to Zimbra Server doesn't works from Virtual Machine

Just because it works from your local PC does not mean it will not get an error when running from a different machine. You should dump the contents of the response to make sure that you are not getting back a HTTP error message. As regards the "session". When you do an AuthRequest you need...

Re: calls to Zimbra Server doesn't works from Virtual Machine

Which zimbra release is it? Is the VM's IP Address whitelisted on zimbra? Have you dumped the SOAP response to see what you are actually getting back? There may be an error or at least a clue in the text. Is the AuthRequest actually generating a session? With zimbra 8.6 and later (and possibly earli...

Re: SMTP Authentication from mail clients (Thunderbird/Outlook)

The document also shows how to configure the client to use the submission port to send email. By definition you must be authenticated to use the submission port.

Re: SMTP Authentication from mail clients (Thunderbird/Outlook)

A simple Internet search for "zimbra thunderbird" finds https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Accessing_ ... hunderbird

Does this document not have what you need?

Re: Repeated Account Lockouts

Most likely these are attempts at authenticated submission of emails. If you search for the appropriate matching timestamp (remove the date part) in /var/log/zimbra.log you will most likely find the attempt to send an email. It should provide you with the originating IP address. You will get a block...
