It's likely that you have zimbraMtaTlsAuthOnly set to TRUE, so you won't get the auth capability in your EHLO response until you start a TLS session.

any errors in the mysql error log? does this persist across a restart? I've never seen that "marking deletions for conversations crossing folder 1777" - what operation are you performing, empty trash? Trash shouldn't be folder 1777 - is there a folder IN your trash?

Are they logging in via a bookmark, and does that bookmark have a ?client=html specifier, or is it to http://host.domain.com/mail/h?

Since zmmailboxmgr runs suid, we've limited the options you can pass in. To bypass this security restriction, just swap it with zmmailboxdmgr.unrestricted in the same directory (mv zmmailboxdmgr zmmailboxdmgr.restricted; cp zmmailboxdmgr.unrestricted zmmailboxdmgr; etc...)
