Virtual Address maped to external mail addresss
There's nothing wrong with using a one-to-one mapping of distribution lists. Its a very clean solution - much cleaner than editing postfix configs in my opinion. It also keeps all your accounts within Zimbra (forwarding accounts or otherwise). We've done this for retired faculty/staff (who don't kee...

Zimbra Ldap service has been stopped every day
That's the maillog showing the symptom of the issue (being unable to connect to LDAP) but not the cause. Check for messages about the LDAP server (slapd) in /var/log/zimbra.log for issues about the LDAP server itself as to why it stops.

Compromise Account Pls. Help
First off - upgrade Zimbra ASAP. The version you have vulnerable to multiple security issues. Go to version 7.2.7. Secondly, if you have changed the password and the account keeps connecting, how is it connecting? Is it connecting via SMTP? Web client? If its SMTP, and you're sure the account is clo...

migration boxes to zimbra
Sendmail isn't a full email server - its just a mail transfer agent (MTA)/SMTP server. What is your actual mail server where your user accounts are stored? If you don't have your user's passwords, there are only a couple ways of doing this. Here is what we did: - Our previous server and Zimbra were ...

Virtual Address maped to external mail addresss
Much easier to do this in Zimbra with the distribution lists functionality.
for example:
zmprov cdl user@your-zimbra-domain
zmprov adlm user@your-zimbra-domain user@external-address
for example:
zmprov cdl user@your-zimbra-domain
zmprov adlm user@your-zimbra-domain user@external-address

[SOLVED] Bulk provisionning with template
Hi, I haven't done a 'template' as you're looking for, but do have an account creation script which runs through about 6 zmprov commands per account. There are a couple things I would recommend: - for any setting that is affected by the class of service, just edit that (or create a new COS). The maj...

What OS/version did you have on the old and new machines? Unless the versions are identical I don't think you can just move it over.

How to edit GAL
You shouldn't ever have a reason (that I'm aware of) to edit the GAL directly. If you need to edit an alias, use the Zimbra Admin GUI (https://your-server:7071) and go to the account that has the alias. Alternately for the CLI, see the page below which has some alias additions/deletions/etc commands...

[quote user="izadi60"]Question: Do you have same username on both domains? for example user@a.domain.com and user@b.domain.com. if you have what happened with their login. do they need to user their full usernames?because I used virtual hosts for my domains they do not need to use their fu...

Confused about "public service host name" and proxy
Hi Mark, We went through (still not 100% finished) a single server to multi-server migration. It appears that you have it correct as you describe it. Just to clarify and use what we did as an example: We had a single server (zimbra.domain.com) which is what users always went to (for IMAP, SMTP, webm...
