Hi,
please check the logs in /var/log/jett8/ on talk server. The 500 error points at a problem with the VNCMiddleware app - probably it is unable to connect correctly to the zimbra server. Is the talk server able to resolve the zimbra hostname? Is tehre some firewall between the two?

Hi, let's assume you did follow the steps in https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/How_to_Install_Zimbra_Talk#Customizing_zimbra_proxy_settings - please check if the new template was actually applied so that the "location ^~ /VNCMiddleware" is in /opt/zimbra/conf/nginx/includes/nginx.conf.web.https...

Re: Aborting install if I choose self-signed sertificate
Just another possible option (as I have seen it just in another installation): Are both servers able to resolve each others names to IP addresses?

Re: Aborting install if I choose self-signed sertificate
Hi Gintoki. Now, that is a different issue... jetty8 on your talk server fails to communicate with zimbra server correctly.
Is there any firewall between zimbra server and talk server? Does your zimbra server use self-signed certificates as well?

Hi,
I have done this with ~17k mailboxes last september - so I can confirm that it is working properly, although these were mostly mail-only users.

Hi, GET https://mydomain/service/proxy?target=null%2Fmiddleware_lib.js&_=1464782976633 ( 500 server error ). the problem here is that the part "target=null" in your error. The actual value is fetched before this using a JSP call - so when the value is empty as in your case, the JSP cal...

Re: Aborting install if I choose self-signed sertificate
Hi Gintoki, using self-signed certificates ia a little tricky. First of all - the installation does not abort when you answer the certificate question with "No". But it does abort when you press [Esc] ... Anyway - you can simply restart the installation. For the actual certification issue ...
