Yes, it sounds like a bug. I'm using 4.0.3 and it will let me enter a subdomain of domain.domain1.com - you'll need to enter it in bugzilla.

I don't understand your question? Are you asking if you can use the same username/password for zzimbra & jwchat? If that's what you'r afetr you need jwchat server to authenticate against an LDAP server, search the forums & wiki for authentication answers.

DNS won't start - serial # problem

Serial numbers are only important for slave dns servers, as far as I know (which isn't a lot about bind). I only run one instance of BIND on my LAN and I've never changed the serial number. Your DNS server should be the primary server and that's what you modify.
