with zimbra you can do these thing:

- Mount new driver

- Use new driver as a new disk to save all new messages of users.

- The old driver will act like an archive driver.

zimbra developed a new toolkit, not YUI, not Kabuki, If you want, you can download it because zimbra has a Open source version

I propose these steps:

1 - Using a new server

2 - Installing new OS

3 - Installing new zimbra (the lastest version if you can)

4 - Migrating data from the old version to the new version

Can you update your profile and let me know which version of zimbra did you use?

These are the folders store your data. Don't earse them.

If you need more space, you can add new media and move your new data to that media.

In my system, we stored about 1TB mail data, it's very normal.

Can you print the output of zmcontrol command?

ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: ZimbraLdapContext) (cause: javax.naming. CommunicationException localhost:389)

maybe that is your error, ldap is not running.
