Re: Anyone using zimbra 9 or 10?

FWIW, Zimbra have reinforced to Partners that Zimbra 9 is End of General Support on 31 March 2024. There is an Extended Support period for Zimbra 9 which ends as you say on 31 December 2024. From April through September, Zimbra 9 will receive (it has been explained to us) only “critical” bug and sec...

Re: zmlocalconfig Settings During Migration

ldap_bind_url has been empty on every system I’ve touched for a number of years, and I also have a recollection that Support told me it is no longer used.

Sounds like you’ve found a residual use there!

Re: zmlocalconfig Settings During Migration

If you are saying there are entries in localconfig on the old server that don’t exist on the new server, please post them here.

Some entries, like ldap_bind_url, haven’t been used for several generations.

Re: Fix for Very Slow SpamAssassin Throughput

A quick postscript... SpamAssassin provides the HitFreqsRuleTiming plugin that will tell you how much time each SA test that fired took to complete. It's a very useful plugin for quickly finding out which tests are slow, so that you can take immediate action to restore SpamAssassin performance. Regr...

Fix for Very Slow SpamAssassin Throughput

Yesterday, we noticed our MTAs couldn't keep up with the normal volume on our Zimbra multi-tenant hosting farm on AWS. We observed that almost all emails were taking about four seconds to be processed (versus the under 1/2 second processing speed we usually saw), and that SpamAssassin was taking 96%...

Re: Zimbra Open Source & few intro tech questions

Hi Mark, many thanks for your insights. A lot of good points to think of. Few questions to ask on what you said. why do I have to compile? compile my own installer, for each new Patch ... rerun zm-build and do an "in-place upgrade" to update. It seems difficult. What if I start from scrat...

Re: Zimbra Open Source & few intro tech questions

What to do? I would recommend thinking bigger picture and longer term. Zimbra 8.8.15 goes End of General Support at 31 December 2023. You are welcome to migrate to Zimbra 10 Open Source, but you'll need to compile your own installer (Google "zm-build github") but you'll still not have Act...

Re: Mac Outlook 2016/2019 calendar invitation

Best next step is to open a Support Case with Zimbra and include a link to this thread, so that they can see the issue is shared with other customers.

Re: Huge notification message coming in at zimbra.log from my zimbra proxy

Thank you Mark for pointing out the reason. I also see from the daily report we have around 3k-4k SASL LOGIN authentication failure warnings. Will Fail2Ban work for this too? What do you suggest for this? I would appreciate if you please share any wiki/how-to links to depoly Fail2Ban for Zimbra 8.8...
