Patching 8.6

Postby gregw » Fri Nov 16, 2018 12:19 am

I have a multi node 8.6 installation that is currently on patch 8. Patch 12 says that it should only be installed on the mailbox node as do patches 11 and 10. However patch 9 says it should be installed on all the nodes. Using this logic, I should install patch 9 on the ldap, proxy and mta nodes and patch 12 on the mailbox node, however patch 9 does not appear to be available for download anymore. So can I install patch 12 on all my nodes since they are supposed to be cumulative?

Thanks dual, but that link is exactly what prompted me to post this question:

(From the P12 release notes)
Install the Patch
Note: This patch should be installed only on all mailbox nodes running in your environment.

So does that mean I should only upgrade my mailbox node to P12 and leave all other nodes on P8 even though there are important updates on P9 that should be applied to all nodes?

(From the P9 release notes)
Install the Patch
Note: This patch should be installed on all nodes running in your environment.

You can check inside the patch what it does. It should answer the question.
