Deploying High-Fidelity Preview
Hi,
I have installed Zimbra 8.5 and applied the PATCH 2 on Ubuntu 14.04 and when I try to use the high-fidelity preview (tried with Chrome 38 and Firefox 33) I got this message on my logs:
2014-10-28 11:41:54,756 WARN [qtp509886383-289:https://10.0.2.15:8443/home/fabio@labor ... &view=html] [name=fabio@laboratorio.com.br;mid=3;ip=10.0.2.2;] misc - native formatter exception, Native format cannot be displayed inline: application/vnd.ms-excel
I tried to upload PDF, ODT and XLS and the same message is displayed. The libreoffice package is installed. What I am misunderstanding?

Hi Fabio,
I will try and let you know. It was working before Patch 2?
Best regards

Hi Jorge, thanks for the answer !
Unfortunately I haven't tested it before applying the PATCH 2 but I will test it on another environment and I will post here.

Hi Fabio,
As you are NETWORK customer, I suggest also open a case, the Support Team will find what's going on quickly, I'm testing in a VM, I will tell you in a few minutes.
Best regards

Hi Jorge, thanks for the effort !
I am not a NETWORK customer, I am testing it on the Open Source edition.
I have tested it on a 8.5.0 without applying the patch and it doesn't work also. The same message is displayed when I try to access any file:
misc - native formatter exception, Native format cannot be displayed inline: application/vnd.ms-excel
I did a test on a 8.0.8 version and it worked perfectly.

Hi Fabio,
I see, the High-Fidelity Preview is only available in Network Edition. In 8.0.8 do you have a Network edition?
Best regards

Hi Jorge,
Perhaps I am misunderstanding something about the High-Fidelity Preview Feature. In the 8.0.8 OSE I tested only the preview of PDF files . I haven't tested the preview of other extensions on this environment since we needed to update the Ubuntu version.
On the 8.5.0 OSE and 8.5.0 OSE P2 environments I tried to open several extensions like PDF, ODT, XLS, DOC and I received the errors which I posted here.

Hi Fabio,
In 8.0.8, the PDF files was previewed with your own PDF reader, embeded into your browser, seems like is not the same in Zimbra 8.5. All the files needs to be processed by the convertd.
So, the only way to see a preview of your files is in Network.
I saw other threads about at least allow the PDF embeded like in 8.0.x in Zimbra FOSS 8.5. I will dig more into this and I will came with more info.
Best regards.

Hi Fabio,
I've reproduced the error in one FOSS with 8.5, I've opened a bug - https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=96186
Let's wait for a developer answer
