nginx.conf is missing

Post by wendelms »

Hello everyone!
Has anyone ever had this problem?

I upgraded a zimbra single server opensource version 8.7 without the proxy module, to version 8.7.1 by installing the proxy module during the upgrade.

And now I get the following error message during zimbra startup:
Starting proxy ... failed /opt/zimbra/conf/nginx.conf is missing

Really the file does not exist in the folder ... is there any way to re-create this file?

thanks in advance.

Hi,
had a sleepless night yesterday because of this!

First of all: I have a single server installation which was upgraded multiple times to 8.6 and yesterday to 8.7 (latest available release)

Because of the need of proxy I reinstalled 8.6, fixed an unknown certificate error (was not visible till the update) and upgraded successfully to 8.7
Only the proxy service wouldn't start. All the time it told me nging.conf missing, which is true.

But at midnight I needed at least the IMAP access so I configured these ports to be not proxied. somehow this works, but webmail is not functional. 443 seems to be blocked and I do not find a way to change it.
Very confusingly AdminWebAccess is working!

So first of all:
1) Do I really need proxy installed and running on a single server config?
2) How do I get nging configured correctly?

All your help is very appreciated!

Best regards
Alexander

Hi,

some days ago I fought with exactly the same errors and issues.
I had different problems.
The nginx conf exists?
Mine wasn't there.
I installed another zimbra 8.7.x and copied only the files that zimbra was complaining about.
Best is to use the same hostename during install.
Then there was another issue:

After this everything worked fine again.
