zimbraAdmin login stuck at "loading" after upgrade to 8.7.11

Post by jradxl »

I've just upgraded to 8.7.11 from 8.7.2, and now the login to 7071/zimbraAdmin/ is stuck at the word "loading" after a login with "admin" and password, where the web browser is running on same server.
IMAP account cannot log in either, but SMTP can.
I can't see anything in logs to help with why.
And googling hasn't come up with anything helpful.

Anyone any suggestions

I get these errors:
zimbra@july:~$ zmmailbox -z -m admin@jradley.uk gaf
ERROR: service.TOO_MANY_HOPS (mountpoint or proxy loop detected)

zmprov fc all
ERROR: service.INVALID_REQUEST (invalid request: can only be used with SOAP)

Hello,
Are your DNS resolving properly your hostname, and your domain name?

Best regards

Gracias, Jorge,
Oh yes, I'm sure my Spit DNS by Dnsmasq is correct.

I have it working (nearly) again now....
For a reason I'll need to report separately your ./install.sh didn't like my hostname, so I changed my hostname.
It seems my understanding of "zmsetservername" etc, etc, was weak and I also made a typo in the servername during the change.
So, in a sense, you are right, in that now I have upgraded, I've changed the hostname back to what it was, and it's come back to life!!
Rather unexpected that there are just no error messages anywhere - Zimbra just stops working if the servername change fails !!

However, now it's working, I now have some zombie servername entries....
-One of these I've got rid of with Jxplorer as zmprov woudn't let me.
-But I'm left with two zombie entries in the Monitor menu, showing data is stale, which I don't know how to delete.

Could you help me with this please?
In the ZimbraAdmin, at Monitor > Server Status, I have three entries where I should only have one.
Where will this be stored in Zimbra, and how do I remove

UPDATE:
zmloggerhostmap
I can delete all the unnecessary entries, shutdown zimbra and reboot.
Once I restart Zimbra again the entries re-appear!
If Zimbra is probing DNS, and I'm using dnsmasq, all sub-domains of my domain resolve to localhost.
There appears there is no way to stop this according to dmsmasq'a man page.
So somewhere Zimbra is holding on to these old servername definitions.

Thx
John

Hello,

I got the same issue today and it was also a problem with names.

In fact, my personal user account has administrator privileges and my e-mail account has an account and an alias: account is in firstname.lastname@domain.xx and alias is firstname.lastname@domain.yy
I changed the status of the domain.xx to "inactive" (part of things I tried for a migration that is underway).

I could still log in to see my e-mails by logging in on the alias. But I could not load the Admin Console, even when logging in on the alias: it got stuck after authenticating on "Loading".

So I reactivated the domain through command line (zmprov md domain.xx .....). And then I got it back to load properly, whether on the account or the alias.

I hope this can help someone with the same issue if ever someone does the same mistake as I did.

Best regards,

Simodul
