Upgrading from 8.7.11 to 8.8 screws up Postfix

Post by joho »

I'm not sure how or why, but it seems like the install script isn't doing what it needs to do when upgrading.

We've spent the better parts of rescuing a system that went T-U during an upgrade from 8.7.11 to 8.8.12. The installation was botched *after* upgrading the Unbutu 14.04.LTS system running 8.7.11 to 8.8.12. The failed upgrade happened during the (later) upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04.LTS. So we had to manually fix this. Once we got the installer to actually go all the way through, we ran into some issues. One of those is that Zimbra refuses to send mail.

We have checked/configured proxies, firewall rules, local DNS lookups, etc.

What we get is stuff like:

postfix/trivial-rewrite[9583]: warning: lmdb:/opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/transportfile lookup error for zimbra@servername.com

Looking at the /opt/zimbra directory, there is no postfix directory under /opt/zimbra. There are several older postfix-version-directories, but nothing that is named like that. Looking in the /opt/zimbra/common/conf where other files seem to reside in 8.8.12, there's no transportfile there either.

It'd be nice with a script that *fixed* all symlinks, etc.
