Dear All,

Please, your help cause I foudn something weird on my system. I have a multiserver Zimbra (Mailbox, MTA, LDAP) version Release 8.6.0_GA_1153.RHEL6_64_20141215151155 RHEL6_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.6.0_P14.

My system has been working fine and reviewing some documents when it was installed i verified the modules installed on it (I have even screenshots). However, I am in the migrating process from the 8.6 to 8.8.12.

The issue is that, as recommended by most of people, I am trying to use zextras migration tool. When I tried to install the migration tool in my 8.6 mailbox i got the following error:

Code: Select all

[root@mailbox8 zextras_migration_tool-2.4.12]# ./install.sh all

-------------------------

Checking for existing installations ...

Unable to determine the current Zimbra version.

Exiting ...
For this reason I went to check the version of my zimbra with zmcontrol -v. On my MTA and LDAP I get the following result:

Code: Select all

Release 8.6.0_GA_1153.RHEL6_64_20141215151155 RHEL6_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.6.0_P14.
However, in my mailbox I get this result:

Code: Select all

[zimbra@mailbox8 ~]$ zmcontrol -v
Release package zimbra-core is not installed
 RHEL6_64 FOSS edition, Patch 8.6.0_P14.
How is it possible the system is working fine without the core installed? Even if I restart the server it goes up correctly, I have access to the Zimbra Admin, users are working fine.

What can I do to solve this issue? Is it possible to excute a ./install.sh from the 8.6 version and install only the core without an impact in the system?

Regards,

Marco
