Upgrade from community to network edition - problem with license

Post by bnpps »

Good morning,

I’ve made upgrade process in following way:
./install.sh -a /opt/zimbra/conf/ZCSLicense.xml

During installation following information appeared:
1)
Checking for available license file...
Current Users=15 Licensed Users=100
2)
Looking for valid license to install...license installed.
Activating license...failed to activate license.

From outlook 2016 client I’m receiving the following communicate from zimbra server:
Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following: Your mail server's license is missing, invalid or expired.

Installed version looks to be the proper one:
Release 8.8.15.GA.3869.UBUNTU18.64 UBUNTU18_64 NETWORK edition, Patch 8.8.15_P7.
And previously installed community edition was also in the same version (8.8.15)

However license checker returns info that license is in grace period:
zmlicense --check
license activation is in grace period

Additionally license tab in administrator panel not exists nor any other network edition functionalities
(Home > Configure > Global Settings > License)
However, version number visible on main page is also proper: 8.8.15_GA_3901.NETWORK

In turn, expiration date in license file looks to be correct also.
<item name="ValidFrom" value="20200217000000Z"/>
<item name="ValidUntil" value="20210217170000Z"/>

Please advise what should be the next steps

Thank you.

Hi,
Just be curious ;) .Why don't you use Zimbra support? Hope you already solved this issue.

Minh.

Hi,

It was a blind shot :)
I received license yesterday and I wasn't aware yet how to contact support.
Today they sent me credentials to support page.
Anyways this problem is solved by "zmlicense -a" command.

This issue can be closed
