Correct update/upgrade method

What's the recommended way to keep Zimbra current in the case of Ubuntu? Package repos or tarball from Zimbra.

I ask because I've been using both, and found that my Zimbra instance seemed to be a mixed bag of package versions.

If this is documented somewhere, I couldn't find it.
