32bit to 64bit upgrade

I am looking at upgrading from 3.1.3 to 4.0 but also want to go with the 64 bit version. What is the best way to do this upgrade?

I posted my plan of attack as follows:

No, I have not made the upgrade yet.

I was planning on making the change on the 23rd of this month. I was in here last Sat evening for something else and thought about going ahead with it. I called support and left a msg about the best way to go about doing it. They sent an email Monday to do a full zimbra backup, install RHEL64 and zimbra 4.0.1 64bit and then do a zimbra restore.
There is soemthing else I am wanting to do around the same time. We have 3 different domains. Zimbra considers 2 of them to be virtual in that account1@mcleodexpress.com goes to account1@mcleodtrucking.com

I am wanting to change the main domain and certificate during this upgrade process and don't know what is going to be more hassle doing it before or after. (and what the steps to do that would be)
Something else that I would like to do as well is the rebranding, but that is not as high a priority.

Why? A backup, rebuild and restore is going to keep you plenty busy without adding variables.
Change one thing at a time.

Looks like the 32 bit box has to be upgraded first. I tried restoring the 3.14 backup to the 4.01 server and got:

[zimbra@wifi ~]$ zmrestore -a all

Error occurred: system failure: unable to process backup files of version 4.3

It makes perfect sense, there are schema changes between the versions.

so now lets say i have 64bit hardware, running 32bit redhat and 32bit zimbra...

what's the best way to migrate to 64bit zimbra/redhat?
are there any markable advantages in doing this?

An advantage that I was told of was the 2GB memory limit for the 32bit JVM.
Yes, I can see the wisdom in not trying to do too much at a time. I have a 12 hour window between Sat 8pm and Sun 8am to do all of this. Doing an NFS copy of 50GB takes a while. I start to doze off at about 2am and I can't get ahold of Zimbra support at that time anyway.

I found this out the hard way that you need to upgrade from 3.x to 4.0.1 on the 32 bit version, then do a full backup and then go to 64 bit.
