Zimbra server migration from 8.0.0_GA5434 to 8.8.9_GA_3019(Current latest)

Post by czanec »

Hi,

Currently we are using Zimbra 8.0.0_GA5434 and we have new server for zimbra with new hardware. Once we change hardware, we are also planning to upgrade zimbra version to latest one, Zimbra 8.8.9_GA_3019. Can you please help me which is the best way for proper migration.

Thank you,
Zane

Hi,

The simplest solution : using Zextras migration tools. You can also applied to latest update 8.8.10

Hi,

While checking I can see that its a paid service and they almost charge around 8$ per mailbox. Is there any alternative way.

Thank you

Zextras migration tools is free. It can be use to export data from source Zimbra server and then using Zextras backup (Fully featured 30-day free trial) to import data.

Thanks for update.

Is this product is Zimbra's own product or a third party.
Also can you please let me know, is there any option to upgrade current Zimbra 8.0.0 to Zimbra 8.8.9

Thank you,

Why don't you search the forums first, this product has been mentioned many time and it's a third [arty product. For an upgrade you install the most recent version of ZCS and migrate all your users and config to that server, read the product documentation (and the wiki article on migration)on the ZeXtras site.
