We have updated our mail server to 5.0.1 on an Intel Mac. We are trying to move from a single server to a multiple server based format but unfortunately all other Xserve's are PPC and we will not be able to purchase a new Xserve Intel until Zimbra is released for Leopard as Apple has stated that they will not support the new Xserve with a Tiger installation.
Is it possible to use the 5.0.1 Server along a PPC with 4.5.11 ? If so what can we distribute across the different servers ?
Also we would like to add a proxy server. Can this be FOSS versus a new installation of NE ?

I am not sure if you can mix versions but usually anti-spam and
anti-virus software eats lots of resources, so my suggestion would
be to put MTA/ANTI-SPAM/ANTI-VIRUS in one server and the other
services on a second machine.
