Hi,

If you have your Zimbra running over a virtual enviroment, best HA I can think of is the hypervisor HA. Isn't that HA enough? Could you share why or what's missing to the HA the hypervisor has to offer?

Hi fab.aravena,
Thank you for read the post that we published in the past. In the post we advice that this is not a supported configuration by Zimbra. So if you will have any problem in the future, it will be hard found people that can help you, and impossible to obtain any Support by Zimbra.
The best solution is like Sebas said, if you are running Virtual Environment, take care of the Zimbra VM with HA technology based in the hypervisor:

VMware - http://www.virtualizationadmin.com/arti ... -vmha.html
Citrix Xenserver - http://support.citrix.com/article/ctx121708
Red Hat KVM - https://alteeve.ca/w/AN!Cluster_Tutorial_2
Microsoft Hyper-V - http://blogs.technet.com/b/keithmayer/a ... -of-2.aspx

The best option for put Zimbra in HA will be available soon, in Zimbra 9.0. Fully supported by Zimbra.
Best regards!

It should be noted that Microsoft Hyper-V is also NOT supported by Zimbra, so this should not be used. There has been heavy perf impact noted for customers attempting to use Hyper-V.

my 2 cents reply,

There is also PROXMOX as hypervisor that can do HA and do the job. (for free, or with support)
