Which one specifically? I'll triple-check here.

I've done the same, and verified the setting. Still seeing the scans.

If you do this test @ your Zimbra server

cat <<EOF | /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/sendmail -t

To: me@DOMAIN1.COM <=============================== CHANGE THIS TO YOUR OWN EMAIL 1ST

Subject: Spam Scan Testing

From: test_message@DOMAIN1.COM

This is a test message

EOF

it shows up on your server without being spam-scanned? no headers shown?

Actually, no, you are right.

I had this working on 8.0.x, and I just recently upgraded to 8.5 - I guess I didn't notice it had started scanning local domains again. This must be a bug introduced the in the 8.5 release. Sorry to lead you down the garden path.

No problem. At least there's now a confirmation.

I checked with a couple friends also running 8.5.1 servers. Same thing. It scans internal emails -- like notifications from the server itself that something starts or stops -- and gives them SPAM scores. Apparently scanning them as 'ham' doesn't change anything in the score at all.

I think this is a larger bug that they introduced in migrating some of the configuration options to LDAP. I have also found the same problem with turning of DSPAM, the new zimbraAmavisDSPAMEnabled option does not do anything.

Anyone have any ideas or solutions? Or do we need to workaround by increasing the point value of 'spam' just to reliably get mail from our own server?

Interesting... Nothing really changed in how any of this is done between 8.0.x and 8.5.x. Both run SA 3.4.0. What is in your zimbraMtaMyNetworks?
