Admin UI alternative to Flash for Monitoring?

Post by RogerTennet »

In the Zimbra Admin UI - Monitor section it says

"Adobe Flash is required to view charts"

As big of a security problem as Flash is it's not used here anywhere on the admin LAN. It's not even supported anymore for Linux by Adobe, except for distribution security backports.

Is there a more-modern HTML5 or other alternative? LOTS of monitoring packages seem to do just fine without Flash.

Admin UI alternative to Flash for Monitoring?

Hi RogerTennet,
Could you please submit a bug in bugzilla - https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/enter_bug.cgi
I want to have also a new Admin Consle based in HTML5 and with all the menu in the left like Wordpress, Exchange 2013, but I don't know when we will be able to have something like this, so for now fill a bug if you want, and I hope that the team will work on this.

Best regards

Hi RogerTennet,

The team are working on that, and hopefully we will see some progress soon. Keep posted on the Bugzilla number.

It's been almost 4 1/2 years since this was reported.

What did you mean by "soon"?

Will "soon" come to an end soon? I mean the end of "flash" is already gone by and yet it is used in the admin panel of zimbra.

Hello,

new UI should land on 2019, this will be another UI not related to Universal UI (sad, I love it and still use it).
For statistic I hope Zimbra/Synacor have planed to change it.
