Changing Primary email address?

Hi,

I'm setting up Active Directory authentication with a system that has user accounts that don't match the email addresses... for example:

User Account: jv01
email address: joanne@company.com

How do I get Zimbra to allow a login with jv01 and a different email address while authenticating jv01 to active directory?

I have the Active Directory configured so if I create an account in Zimbra that matches the authentication works.

Wow...over 40 views and nobody has any answers? Must be Zimbra can't handle something as simple as multiple email addresses...

there is a work around by using externalLdapAuthDN into zimbra.

So if I'm understanding this correctly it looks like the zimbra account can be logged into by either the actual Zimbra account or the account specified in zimbraAuthLdapExternalDn. Seems like kind of a hack. Why not just separate the email addresses from the user account? That is the way Microsoft Exchange does it.

You log in with user@domain.tld with credential mapped to the DN into the external referential. So the mail account can be different from the AD account.
