Thanks for your post. :) The steps I've outlined in my first post in this thread work well and have done for the past eight months on my server through several rspamd and ZCS server upgrades,. :)

phoenix the master .... :D :D

When I change this line:

milter_default_action = accept

And then when I restart Postfix, it rewrites this :

milter_default_action = tempfail

How do you do that?

Do you want to write a wiki with the way how is installed, etc? I can add a diagram to it if you want. And we can featured it on the Wiki home page, and on social media.
I'm not sure my technical documentation writing skills are up to it and there really isn't much that I could add other than my notes in the original post. I'm not too skilled at configuring or tweaking rspamd, other than getting it running there isn't much I've done to it and the results, so far, are slightly better than spamassassin. My server is, of course, just a home server and I realise it's not a real world test of the product so I'm looking forward to seeing some results from a real sysadmin with a live server and what sort of changes & tweaks may be necessary to get the best from rspamd.

As I mentioned in my first post, there are modules within rspamd, such as DKIM, that could replace some of the current ones in ZCS - I'd be interested to know what Zimbra tech think of the product - obviously I know they have a proper job to do apart from reviewing odd bits of software. ;)

BTW, I do have a wiki account but it doesn't seem to have the ability to create/edit any pages - does something need to be changed on the account? Is there any documentation or 'how to' for the wiki or is there a company 'style' that's needed for the format?
Regards

Bill

Hello
Concerning this:

3 - As zmconfigd rebuilds the main.cf file you'll have to make a small hack to the zmconfigd file to stop our changes being overwritten (details in the ZCS bugzilla report 97706):

Locate and remove these four lines from zmconfigd.cf configuration file (still as the zimbra user):

@phoenix you have to forget a line to delete in the file:

/opt/zimbra/conf/zmconfigd.cf

This line if:

Code: Select all

POSTCONF milter_default_action VAR zimbraMtaMilterDefaultAction

It's not a good idea to edit your forum posts and add a new question, nobody gets notified about the change and your question(s) may get missed and go unanswered. You're far better adding it as a new post in the thread,if it's relevant to the thread in which you're posting otherwise start a new thread.

Check the main.cf file and see if there's multiple entries for "milter_default_action" and if there is what's it set too?

I still have that in my zmconfigd.cf file and it doesn't cause me any problems, the changes I've outlined in my original post are the ones I've used on two servers and neither of those are being reverted to 'tempfail'.

BTW, don't forget to add your vote to the bugs in my signature if you think it's a good idea to add this to Zimbra. :)
