Re: Server HIGH CPU after reboot
If you don't use the stats, have you considered resetting them? There's an article for that here: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Ajcody-Log ... om_Scratch

Thak you for the reply.phoenix wrote:If you don't use the stats, have you considered resetting them? There's an article for that here: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Ajcody-Log ... om_Scratch
This is a very strange behaviour, since it's a new server, only around 4 weeks old.
A new server and a new deploy of Zimbra 8.8.6 foss, upgraded this morning, but I haven't noticed this before since I haven't rebooted it for the last 2 weeks.
I'll not implement this to see if someone, or me, find the 'bug', or not.
I'll also keep an eye to this files getting bigger and not being properly dealt by the system, since they shouldn't be getting this big ..
Regards.

Hi jasggomes,
Of course, your server or those stats aren't OK, you need to take phoenix advices in order to keep disk space.
Show an excerpt of those files, sure there are many errors in it.

Re: Server HIGH CPU after reboot
I agree, but my point is, this is a completely new server and if there is errors on it maybe something is wrong with the server setup in the first place.ccelis5215 wrote:Hi jasggomes,

I have deleted the big files, just deleted them, so we cannot see what was in them, unless I do a restore of a previous backup.
But they were around 30gb Saturday morning.
I will keep you posted.
Stay sharp.

This appears to happen from timer to time with the stats, if you search the forums you'll see various reports of large files and excessive CPU just like you've seen. If this is a 'new' server my inclination would be to reset the stats and see if the problems goes away - you'll only lose a couple of weeks data and I'm not really sure how useful these stats are. When was the last time you looked at them? I last looked at my stats page about two years ago and I prefer to use other monitoring solutions such as this: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Monitoring ... nd_Grafana

I also use Grafana, from Jorge de la Cruz and Zabbix.
Maybe disabling the stats would be good.
PS - I never saw this on the other server, on it 5 year of use, again strange on a brand new server installation.
Re: Server HIGH CPU after reboot
Disabling them might be good but I haven't actually looked into that, I just don't use them. Although now you mention it I might have a look this afternoon at how to disable them.

Re: Server HIGH CPU after reboot
Well, it's raining like hell here in Lisbon PT, so no bike ride for today ... So lets do some checks to keep me busy ..
I went to CP and used the stats, to see if something strange appear and ... it did, look at the images below, thats not real at all, those values didn't happen.
Stats for the last 48hrs, look at the end of the graph, thats for yesterday ...
Using CP from Zimbra
Now using Grafana:
Well, lets see during today ...
Stay sharp and well.
