Can not login to Ajax web client

Post by tminh »

I update to ZCS 8.8.8 lastweek, and I can not login to Web client using Ajax interface (html is normal). It keep stuck at "Loading..."

I tried on Microsoft Edge , Mozila Firefox, Chrome , and Safari (iphone) and the result is the same.

I tried to modify "Start folder" in User Preference from in:inbox to in:sent but this methos is not working.
What should I do to fix this issue ?

Hi Dualboot,

I'm new linux and zimbra user, so could you please explain more clearly what should I do :(

What I'm thinking is:

01. Stop zimbra services ( zmcontrol stop)
02. Delete "the jetty working directory" <== where can I empty that folder ?
03. Start zimbra services (zmcontrol start)

Is it correct ?

I can login to ajax interface by Microsoft Edge. Then I uninstalled Firefox , clear all the cache / temp , restart the computer, re-install firefox but it keep stuck at "loading phase". My company is allowed to use Firefox only so I have to fix this issue. Do you have any clue ?

Hi,
I have delete all the files and folders from work directory because the ajax based emailbox doesnt worked.
After folder empty and service restart, the web interface doesn not work.
"HTTP ERROR 502
Problem accessing ZCS upstream server. Cannot connect to the ZCS upstream server. Connection is refused.
Possible reasons:

upstream server is unreachable
upstream server is currently being upgraded
upstream server is down
Please contact your ZCS administrator to fix the problem."

Do you have any idea?
Thx.

I had a similar problem after applying patch P5 to 8.8.15 on Ubuntu. The symptom was that users could not view mail on a browser on their mobile, but it worked on a browser on a Windows desktop. (On the mobile, they saw a few headings but no mail; no error messages either).

The steps you describe fixed it for me.

Somewhat unexpectedly, I had to do this again. I had a working Zimbra server at 8.8.15 P6 on Ubuntu 18 and I upgraded by following the steps at https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Zimbra_Releases/8.8.15/P7 (basically apt upgrade; su - zimbra; zmcontrol restart)

It all seemed to go smoothly, but I soon learned that users with mobiles got an almost blank screen, just a few headings and no useful content. I stopped the server, moved the contents of /opt/zimbra/jetty_base/work to a temporary backup location, and restarted. The users with mobiles are happy now.

I had the same issue that iPad users did not see content of the inbox anymore using the safari browser. After emptying the jetty work directory, the problem is fixed.
