Server IP Exclusion for Enforcing a Match Between...

Post by ckcheong79 »

My Zimbra Version Zimbra 8.8.5GA.FOSS

Dear Friends of Zimbra,

I have implemented this features, it is a cold security improvement for spam filter.

https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Enforcing_ ... ername_8.5

However, we have some problem with some online form. I am hosting a webserver in another data center with Fix IP. Every time when someone fill up the web form, it will send by PHP Mail and there is no Authentication. Ended up, I receive an error email with "Sender address rejected: not logged in".

Above wiki link has an exclusion file for email address, but it is too many for me to key in and it is hard to manage. Therefore, is there a way to exclude a public IP (Web Server IP) in Zimbra?

Thank you for your answer...

Hello,

you can add the static IP to the MyNetworks option but if this IP is a public one with many other machines behind, this is not a good idea.

Hi Dualboot,

If this is not recommended, how do exclude more than 1 email address to be exception?

For now, I am getting this error message

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

myemail@domain.com
host mail.domain.com [xx.xxx.xx.xx]
SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<myemail@domain.com>:
553 5.7.1 <do-not-reply@domain.com>: Sender address rejected:
not logged in

I might have 10-15 domains
do-not-reply@domainA.com, do-not-reply@domainB.com, do-not-reply@domainC.com...

If your mail entry point is a MX, you should not have this error.
Is it the case ? Is your entry point a MX ?

Your server with Public IP sending email => your MX which refused the mail ?
Is that correct ?
