WARNING: Do not install 8.8.9P3 on Ubuntu 14.04!
I just did so accidentally as part of a regular system update, and now cannot recover my email environment. The underlying problem seems to be that Java has somehow been broken -- zmlocalconfig receives SIGKILL so basically nothing works. I have no idea how to work out what's gone wrong.
Updated: Ubuntu 14.04 kernel update 3.13.0-155 kills java/Zimbra (Not 8.8.9P3)

Re: 8.8.9P3 on Ubuntu 14.04 KILLS ZIMBRA
This is not caused by Zimbra it's most likely because of the updated kernel, take a look at this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=64696
Re: 8.8.9P3 on Ubuntu 14.04 KILLS ZIMBRA
Thank you! It was indeed the new 3.13.0-155 kernel; apologies for the panic.

It's no problem but understandable, I'm glad that fixed it.jered wrote:Thank you! It was indeed the new 3.13.0-155 kernel; apologies for the panic.
