Problem with Umlauts in Domain

Hi everyone,

in Zimbra, I have problems creating accounts when umlauts are present in the domain name.
In Germany there are domains with the umlauts Ä, Ö, Ü. These are special characters in our language but allowed to use.
Please have a look at the screenshots on this Post.
Why can not I create accounts or email accounts? Zimbra reports an error: Invalid e-mail.
Can anybody help me further?

first I would try to create it with command line to check if it is a problem in the WebUI or in the engine (for example : LDAP limitation of the mail address field)
