Zimbra Broken - Files Missing

Post by Aragorn »

I got some warning messages from nagios last night saying Zimbra was broken.

On investigation i tried restarting it with zmcontrol and it kept asking for sudo passwords, which didnt make much sense. Eventually i realised the entire contents of /opt/zimbra/libexec was missing...

Any ideas whats going on here?

Currently trying a reinstall, but may have to resort to backup.

There should be no reason for those files to be missing unless someone/something removed them or you have a HD problem/failure. There are some details of users recently having the ZCS server hacked but that usually just adds 'stuff' to your server not remove anything. Do you have any audit logs that might give some insight to anyone logging into your server or removing those files?

Reinstalled zimbra and mysql wont start.

Upon inspection, /opt/zimbra/db/data is also empty.

Doesnt look good, checking log files now.
