HI. I am migrating to Zimbra OSE 8.8.12 and I try to figure out how to back it up.
So far I fount this script
https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Open_Sourc ... _Procedure
https://github.com/srgvg/sysadmintools/ ... zimbrackup
but I think it could be outdated.
Does anyone has a better suggestion on how to back everything up?
Backing up Zimbra OSE
Re: Backing up Zimbra OSE
This has been mentioned many time in the forums, use the ZeXtras Migration Tool - it's free, fast and it works.
Re: Backing up Zimbra OSE
I understand that ZeXtras is a commercial product.
Is there a way of backing up everything for free?
I could rsync the /opt/zimbra/ folder to another server and dump the DB daily. What else do I need to copy? What is needed for a successful restore?

Re: Backing up Zimbra OSE
Did you not read my post? I said it was free, fast and it works - wasn't that clear enough? As for it being commercial, the migration tool is free to use and the 'commercial' version has a thirty days trial, that has all been covered many time in the forums, try a search next time. I'd also suggest you get yourself onto the latest 8.8.18 - nothing less than that.
Re: Backing up Zimbra OSE
For the migration itself ZeXtras tool is the best option, as phoenix said.
As for the backup of your new install all the current open implementations are possibly faulty due to this bug. Your only safe option is to use ZeXtras backup, paid solution.
