Problem after upgrade to FOSS 8: Cant open email in web client

Post by alex_rhys-hurn »

Hi Folks,
A week ago I upgraded our Ubuntu 10.04 Server with Zimbra 7.2.0 FOSS to ZImbra 8 FOSS
The upgrade procedure went fine and didnt report any issues.
Everything seems to work well with one intermittent exception:
Sometimes when I double click an email to open it it will not open. It will not open in the preview pane either, but if I right click and say "Launch in a separate window" then the email opens and works perfectly.
All my users are reporting this.
Have I done something wrong or do you have any idea what I can do to fix this? I did search the forums and saw the exact same thing described in Zimbra 5, but no solution was posted.
Many thanks in advance.
Alex

You could always try stopping zimbra, and then fixing the permissions with this as root user:
/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms
and then starting zimbra again as normal and see if it helps. Can't think of anything else right now. Hope it helps.

Hi Ccelis,
Thanks for the tip on HTTPS. In fact my zimbra 7 was already using HTTPS and so the Zimbra 8 HTTPS is normal for me. I would not recommend anyone to change away from
Why">HTTPS.
Why do you think that HTTPS could be part of this problem?
Thanks,
Alex

I've read a few posts about this. My fault, didn't read completely your post, it's not related. Sorry for pointing in wrong direction.
