New to zimbra.
Currently I have 2 servers, my production mail server is sendmail/dovecot with about 200 users on it. It has openwebmail as a webgui.
I loaded up the VMware version of zimbra on a second server. I would like test out Zimbra with 20 of my users.
Is there a way to keep my production server with 180 accounts active and working and have 20 accounts on zimbra active and working.
I was thinking if I have my production server as Zimbra's upstream mail server this could work but I thought there might be a better way to do this.
Also just a curiosity question, is anyone running the VMware version in production?

You can accomplish your test with the split domain scenario. It is in the wiki.
As for VMware I don't use the VMware version, but I run a multi-server install of Zimbra on a few ESX Virtual Machines, and works well.

Thanks,
That looks like it will get me started.
I love Virtualization, I hope to use it here, I just wasn't sure if the Vmware version of Zimbra was meant to be used for production or more of a trial thing.
Side question is it possible to keep the zimbra app on one server but all of the mail files on another. If I did that I could have Zimbra VM on any server pulling its configs from some NAS boxes.

The VMware version of Zimbra is a demo of the products features I recommend you do not use it in production. Yes, you can install the data files on a separate machine, there's a description in the product documentation it's the 'Multi-Server Guide'.

So in the split server example, I have 2 servers, my primary is running Sendmail and Dovcot.
Server 1 mail1.mydomain.com my mx record points to this 2 nics, outside and inside
Server 2 zamba.mydomain.com nothing points to it, natted internal address
I set up the entries in Zamba listed on the Wiki, so my accounts are there and I can send mail.
How can I get my sendmail to forward mail to it based on an account, or should I use some sort of pop account type of deal.
