Zimbra 7.1.1 Appliance start up issue

Post by bubarooni »

Hi,
I'm looking to perhaps replace my existing Zimbra NE install with the Zimbra Appliance.
This is my second unsuccessful try with it. I keep getting stuck at this point in the server boot up process:

-------------------------------------------------------------

*checking file system

fsck 1.40.b(13 Mar 2008)

fsck.ext3: No suh file or diretory while trying to opne /dev/zg01/zv/01

/dev/zg01/zv01:

The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2

filesystem. If the device is valid and it really contains an ext2

filesystem (and not swap or ufs or something else) then the superblock

is corrupt, any you might try running e2fsck with an alternate superblock:

e2fsck -b 8193

[fail]

/dev/sda/1: clean, 313/32128 files, 28653/128488 blocks

fsck died with exit status B
* File system check failed

A log is being saved in /var/log/fsck/chekcfs if that location is writable.

Please repair the file system manually.

*A maintenance shell will now be started.

CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and resume system boot.

Give root password for maintenance

(or type Control-D to continue): * Starting NTP server ntpd
Login incorrect.

Give root password for maintenance

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I've tried many different passwords but my googling ability must not very good as I've yet to ever get in to maintenance.
If I hit Control-D and proceed with boot it does take me to the 'VMware Zimbra Collaboration Appliance' screen where I can login, configure network and set the time. I'm presented with the option to login though once again I can't seem to find the right username and password. I'm also instructed to go to a webpage to config the appliance but going to that address produces a 'page cannot be displayed' error.
I'm not using VMware, I'm using Virtualbox instead. Maybe that's it, though I've always been able to start ovf files in it regardless of who the vendor was.
I'm thinking I need to fix that file system first though before I can do anything but am stuck on which way to proceed.
Anyway, if you all are feeling charitable then send me some ideas. I'll reread the install guide in the meantime!
Thanks In Advance!
