Problems getting hold of the Source Code
That's bad. And there is no other way? I built the community mirror by scripting it. If you have access to the perforce log, you could simply replay the changes using the (IMHO more efficient) git way. I think, it shouldn't be THAT hard.

There's nothing bad about it.

Problems getting hold of the Source Code
It does beg the question .. is this archive for "you", or is it to make the source code available?
Seriously, is anyone else likely to want to check out anything other than the latest version ???
(in which case, would it not easily fit on GitHub at zero cost to Zimbra??)
I'm thinking the time it would take to create a Zimbra repo on GitHub, with the latest version (so people could actually get on and use it) would be measured in minutes rather than hours ..
Too much to ask ??

Of course the older versions are useful.
Not everyone have a zimbra server with the latest version of zimbra.
When I work for a client with a specific version, I want to check out the correct version.

Ok, so if I understand it .. you're happy to let your customer remain on an old version of Zimbra that may well contain flaws and security holes .. and indeed work on the source code for such a version, modify it, then update it - leaving known bugs in place ????
Two questions;
a. Is your customer really happy about this ??
b. Do you think you might be in the minority of people who want access to the source code ??
Again I can't help thinking that Zimbra could service 90%+ of source code requests by spending 30 mins uploading to GitHub.
Given the length of time this has already taken .. well .. let's just say I'm surprised.

It's not about being happy or not about it, it's the clients choice, for various reasons.
Of course we recommend our customers to update their zimbra.
You can also see easily that their is 2 up to date versions of zimbra, one for zimbra 7, and one for zimbra 8.
a. It's the customer choice.
b. Yes. Why I wouldn't?
I'm surprised by the time this has taken too.
But from the informations we got, it should work next week.

Ahhh, Ok, we are different.
If a customer tries to make a stupid choice, I'm quite happy to call him an idiot ..

Problems getting hold of the Source Code
@Quanah, thanks for making this happen.
Would it be possible to have a web browseable repository, so that I could quickly lookup the code of one specific file without a client? Something like GitList would be enough.
Thanks!
Kind regards
Dennis

Hi,
The way git fusion works, there's actually not git repository on the Perforce side, so GitList isn't possible. However, I've already raised this as a feature request with Perforce a few weeks ago, and they are looking into adding similar functionality into the product.
