Turn off read confirmation

Post by roland30 »

Is there a way to disable altogether the window popup asking to send a read confirmation receipt for new emails that I open?

I receive a lot of these, but they're unsolicited for most of the time.

Can't find a way to do that in the preferences nor on this board.

Hello,

You can just change the read receipt preference:

From the description it sounds like he's asking about inbound email and I don't believe it's possible to stop that - or is it?

Yes , that’s exactly what the preference that I’ve marked will stop. It will disable the notification to send a read confirmation when an email with a read receipt request is open.

Duh!!!! My mistake, I wasn't paying attention when I looked at the screen grab - you can put it down to my advancing years. Sorry for the noise. :)
