Hi ZImbra.
I have an user on my Zimbra Server - that would like to know how to move emails between 2 seperate mailboxes.
If I use "shared ibox" and moving from the private email to the shared Mailbox - it'll create 2 seperate emails when moving ( dublets)
But the issue is when recieving an email on the private account - its an issuie when m,oving the a subfiolder of the shared folder
This user is using Outlook as email client - adding the "shared Mailbox" with full access -just giving a error when trying to move from inbox in the private mailbox to the subfolders of the shared account ( Even with full access to the user)
how can I make it so my user actually can move between folders in outlook ?
This is a hudge issue since we're about to move 100.000+ mails and wanted the solution up front
Is there any way tpo make this work ?
Thanks In Advance
Peq

Re: Moving email between 2 mailboxes
hi,
I have a similar case I like to move a folder with subfolders from one user to an other ... the only way I know is export and import but
this is not convenient because it is a lot of data > 50GB

Hi guys,
have you tried to export/import your user data using Zimbra Web Client? This also seems to work using Zimbra API.
Cheers

Would IMAPSync be a viable method? https://imapsync.lamiral.info/
We use it to routinely archive entire mailboxes. It preserves attributes and the directory tree.

Hi rsilveira1987
yes, I just thought it would be nice, to not move gigabytes of data just because I need to change a access right on some folders and mails ...

Re: Moving email between 2 mailboxes
yes I did that to, but then all coloring get lost. I thought of something like chown of the objects. command with or a mysql update ...
and moving the files to another folder in the datastore ....
Code: Select all
zmmailbox
and moving the files to another folder in the datastore ....
