Problem with Office 365 and Zimbra connector.

Post by Lutero »

Hi,
I have a problem with Office 365 and Zimbra connector, when we configure a laptop with win 8.1 pro and domain user, I do try configure an account, but after write info (user, password, server address, SSL) and click next, I recieve the next fault:   Can't save made changes. Can't complete action.

If I try configure an account with IMAP I receive the next fault:
error 0x8004011c

I expect your answers.
Kind regards.

Hi Lutero,

This problem can be multiple things. Please let us know the exact version of Outlook, and also the zmcontrol -v from the Zimbra server, you need to run the command like zimbra user inside a SSH session.

Also let us know if your Zimbra server have a SSL Certificate Self-Signed or Commercial.

Best regards

Creating and running a plain text file with .reg extension using the following (between the quote marks, non-inclusive), will fix the issue:

"Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Protect\Providers\df9d8cd0-1501-11d1-8c7a-00c04fc297eb]
"ProtectionPolicy"=dword:00000001"

This has done the trick for me every time I encountered the problem. It has something to do with changing permissions blocked by RWDC. Other than fixing, it is harmless.
