Hi all,

please have a look into comment #2 of the bugreport. It describes a workaround for the problem and brings up the "old style" account creation dialog of MS Outlook.

This was working for us....

Regards
Thomas

I guess everyone on this thread has opened a Support Case (you should) with Zimbra and added their comment and votes to the bug report?

From the bug report, here's a workaround one liner that turns off the simplified account creation screens. It can be run in the user context. I've added this to my GPO and pushed to all users, and it works!

Code: Select all

REG ADD HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Setup /v DisableOffice365SimplifiedAccountCreation /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

From the QA Team at Zimbra
"
We are currently working to resolve this issue asap.
Meanwhile, could you please check if the below workaround suits you?

Steps to disable Simplified Account Creation in Outlook 2016:
1. Exit Outlook.
2. Start Registry Editor. To do this, use one of the following procedures,as appropriate for your version of Windows.
-Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8: Press Windows Key + R to open a Run dialog box. Type regedit.exe, and then click OK.
-Windows 7: Click Start, type regedit.exe in the search box, and then press Enter.
3. In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following subkey in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Setup
4. After you select the key that is specified in step 3, point to New on the Edit menu, and then DWORD (32-bit) Value.
5. Type DisableOffice365SimplifiedAccountCreation, and then press Enter.
6. Right-click DisableOffice365SimplifiedAccountCreation, and then click Modify.
7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
8. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.

My work around is Control Panel then to mail. I set it up there while Outlook is closed.

I hope this helps,
