iCal appointments / Set Organizer (reveals internal-domain)

Post by SteS »

Hi, we use Zimbra 8.6 and having an issue with iCal (set up via CalDav)
We are using an internal Domain as Main Domain. So Primary usernames are "login@internal-domain"
When we setup iCal via CardDav it's not possible to choose an Identity. Invitations are sent with -> "organizer = login@internal-domain".
Not only does that reveal the internal Domain, which is a bit odd. But also breaks the "accept / decline" feature because the "accept / decline"-answer seems to be sent to the "Organizer" instead of the sender from the Appointment-Mail.
Are there any Workarounds for that?

Hi, for me it sounds like the same problem that I have.

I already opened a bug. https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=97428

We have the same domain configuration.

iCal appointments / Set Organizer (reveals internal-domain)

Hi, If you could both provide mailbox.log logging for the related accounts where this issue is being experienced, that would be much appreciated.   Does the problem only manifest itself when inviting users external to the domain?
Equivalent zimbra.soap tracing for invites done with ZWC would also be helpful.
zmprov addAccountLogger USEREMAIL zimbra.dav TRACE
zmprov addAccountLogger USEREMAIL zimbra.soap TRACE

"show original" in ZWC for an example meeting request originating from ZWC and for one originating from iCal would also help (with details of the primary username and the desired username for the ORGANIZER)
Thanks, Gren

Is there a way to get a seperate log file for the test-user Mailbox? As you may imagine the mailbox.log is pretty busy and crowded. I'd like to get you a clean log.

For me, the problem only manifests for external users because internal domains do work internally. The Organizer Adress still is the wrong one, it's just not a problem.
The primary username of the Organizer would be "testaccount@domain-zimbra.domain-intern.de", however, in ZWC the Settings for Sent Messages are "From: Sender-OK <testaccount@domain.net> (see attached pic)

Appointments via ZWC are working fine:

In iCal I cannot set a "from" Adresse. Just Username, Pass, Server and path. Therefore the primary Username is revealed.

iCal appointments / Set Organizer (reveals internal-domain)

Post by NilsLewandowski »

Hi, i started the logging today to reproduce this issue.

I will upload the files to the your FTP after all attendees has accept.

Please the this article: http://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Split_Domain

In our case the main mail server is mail.example.com and the zimbra server is zimbra.example.com.

On mail.example.com the accounts called @example.com

On zimbra.example.com -> firstname.lastname@zimbra.otrs.com

Mails to @example.com will be delivered to mail.example.com and forwarded to zimbra.example.com

All outgoing mails from zimbra.example.com were sent as firstname.lastname@example.com

But if I add an domain alias @example.com to zimbra, i have a new problem. I sent a mail to an address which is not registered on zimbra but on mail.example.com. i got the following message:

<it@zimbra.example.com>: zimbra.example.com

Reporting-MTA: dns; zimbra.example.com

X-Postfix-Queue-ID: 3AF822825FA

X-Postfix-Sender: rfc822; firstname.lastname@otrs.com

Arrival-Date: Mon, 23 Feb 2015 16:29:14 +0100 (CET)

Final-Recipient: rfc822; it@zimbra.example.com

Original-Recipient: rfc822;it@example.com

Action: failed

Status: 5.0.0

Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; zimbra.example.com

Nils,

I'm assuming the problem you are having is similar / the same as what SteS describes and I've updated Bug 97428 to reflect that. If that is not correct, please add your logging and description of the problem to that bug.

On the other issue with not being able to send to addresses on another host when you have a domain alias. Please create a new forum post for that. I'd rather concentrate on one problem per thread, even if they are related to some extent. You're more likely to get an answer on that issue that way I think, as I'm not particularly familiar with split domain working, so I wouldn't be the best person to answer that question.
