We have an issue where one of the accounts on our Zimbra cluster is causing LDAP to time out. We recently set up a shared calendar and shared it to a number of users. Afterwards the LDAP server started to become really slow to respond to LDAP queries and eventually started timing out.
We isolated this to when a specific account set up their Zimbra calendar in Apple's Calendar application. When this user has the Calendar application closed the LDAP server responds correctly but when they have the Calendar application open the LDAP server starts to slow down and eventually times out. This occurs only with this account and on multiple computers so we are certain the account is the cause.
We did a packet trace and it looks to be a sending a very large number of LDAP queries but we're not certain what these LDAP queries are. Is there anything we can do to find out why this account's calendar is sending so many queries to the LDAP server which is causing it to time out? Thanks.
