In desktop, filters are not available, but if they are created in zimbra "web" client, are they applied in zimbra desktop ?

ZImbra desktop and filters

Filters created on the server are applied "server side", thus visible in any client you're using (webUI, Outlook with ZCO or IMAP, TB with IMAP, zDesktop, etc).
As long as you're using zDesktop with a Zimbra account (and not as a MUA with an "external" mail account).
